Speechless

How do you not talk about suicide when it happens to a loved one?

If you have any answers, please share. I have this paralyzing feeling of helplessness because the action is so final. I don’t know where to release what I feel, or how to express what I feel. I have thought about calling a hotline for help, but it seems so cold to me.

What does a cry for help look like in the middle of a silent dark night, with no witnesses? Or in the middle of the day with smiling people around you and beautiful sunlight?

We say we’re ok when we are not. We quickly respond with “I’m fine” when we are not.

How do you reach in beyond the do not enter the gate when the doors are repeatedly slammed in your face?

What if we closed the door the last time on a loved one for fear of having the door closed again on us?

To the human soul who has convinced themselves you have found the answer, give your life another chance. To those of us on the other side of the door, if you value the person, you will find the courage to knock a little louder.

Give the miracle of witnessing another sunrise a chance.

Fall in love with YOU again.

Tell someone without them asking you…I am here for you.

Celebrate life and love daily!

It’s such a difficult subject for any of us to discuss, especially with a love one. When suicide happens, it catches us completely by surprise because we somehow have missed the signs. So many of us walk around with these dark feelings that we’ve buried under the facade of “everything is okay”. We just have to let them know that that they are valued and loved. The family and society are better with them, than without them. Above all else, Love.
